What’s on for Dementia Action Week?

Dementia Action Week 2025 runs from 19th-23rd May.

As part of our commitment to raising awareness we’re excited to share details for Dementia Action Week.

There are many events taking place across North Wales for Dementia Action Week, here are just some that may be of interest.

Full details of all events and a printable timetable can be found at the bottom of the page.

Anglesey

20th May

Alzheimer’s Society will have a presence at Plas Newydd on the day along with Ffeind, Digital Communities Wales and Dementia Actif Môn.

Location: National Trust Plas Newydd Anglesey

Time: 10.00am-3.00pm

Admission fee: Normal National Trust admission fee

Open to: All

Gwynedd

16th May

Living Better with Dementia in North Wales – Film and Q&A session

Location: Magic Lantern Cinema, 6a Corbert Square, Tywyn, LL36 9DF

Time: 11:00am

Admission fee: Free of charge

Open to: All

Light refreshments available.

Clwb MANtur Pyrography

Dementia Friendly Abergele Recognition Event. The Memory Support Pathway will be talking about the support available.

Location: Abergele Community Centre

Time: 6:30-8:00pm

Admission fee: Free of charge

Dementia Friendly Abergele will be promoting the Virtual Dementia Bus (17-19th June) and giving out community leaflets.

The North Wales Police Engagement Van will be sharing information about the Herbert Protocol.

Denbighshire

16th May

Elvis Night

Location: Guildhall Tavern, Denbigh

Time: 7:00pm

Admission fee: Adults – £10  Children and OAPs – £5

Tickets available at Guildhall, Co-op or email dementiafriendlydenbigh@outlook.com

All proceeds to those living with dementia in Denbigh.

Location: Rhuddlan Community Centre

Time: 1:30-2:30pm

Dementia Friendly St Asaph coffee morning

Location: St Asaph Cathedral

Time: 10:30am -1:00pm

Dementia Friendly Ruthin: “Living Better with Dementia” Films and Q & A and Memory Support Pathway Information stand

Location: DVSC, Naylor, Leyland Centre, Well Street, Ruthin

Time: 5:30-7:30pm,

Dementia friendly Ruthin community choir

An evening dance with Muddy Boots

Time: 7:00pm for 7-30pm start

Dementia Friendly Crown Green Bowling taster session

Flintshire Dementia Awareness Network

Location: The Older People’s Association Building, Cable Street, Off Tuscan Way, Connah’s Quay, CH5 4DZ
